DiMango says goodbye to Brooklyn courts
The Kings County Criminal Bar Association and its president, Jay H. Schwitzman, said goodbye to Hon. Patricia DiMango at a KCCBA meeting Thursday night (also pictured is attorney Wayne C. Bodden). DiMango was named Brooklyn Supreme Court Administrative Judge for Criminal Matters in December 2013, but has agreed to step down to star in “Hot Bench,” a new CBS television court show created by famed television judge known simply as “Judge Judy.”
“We wanted to recognize Judge DiMango for all she has accomplished in her 34 years on the bench,” Schwitzman said. “She’s always been very determined that justice is being done so that there were no wrongful convictions. America is going to love her. She is quite a talent in the courtroom, and America is going to love her,” said Schwitzman.
DiMango added, “I haven’t gotten to the point of excitement yet, because there is a real sense of loss that I won’t be seeing everyone on a regular basis.”
