A hearing  involving top officials of the State University of New York (SUNY), scheduled for Thursday at state Supreme Court in Downtown Brooklyn, has been postponed until Tuesday, February 18 at 10 a.m. because of a predicted heavy snowstorm, attorneys said.

SUNY officials have been called to appear before state Supreme Court Justice Johnny Lee Baynes to answer accusations that they acted to close Long Island College Hospital (LICH) despite numerous court orders to keep the hospital, located in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, open.

The hearing has been rescheduled several times.

A winter storm warning has been issued for Brooklyn and the surrounding metropolitan area, with heavy snow of 8 – 12 inches and strong wind gusts predicted by the National Weather Service. Sleet and rain will likely mix with snow Thursday afternoon.
