Good morning. Today is the 45th day of the year. On Feb. 14, 1901, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle wrote about a fight at Bader’s Hotel on Ocean Parkway between a wealthy undertaker and his wife, on one side, and a doctor and his wife, on the other. “There was a royal struggle on the floor,” the Eagle reported. “Tables, chairs and bystanders were overturned.” There was no word on what caused the fight, but a bystander was quoted as saying that there had been so many fights in the place, she had trouble remembering the details of this one.

Well-known people who were born today journalist Carl Bernstein, former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, opera singer Renee Fleming, basketball player Richard Hamilton, signer-actress Florence Henderson (“The Brady Bunch”), magician Teller of Penn and Teller and filmmaker Jessica Yu.
