BP Eric Adams appoints Ridge native as general counsel

Bay Ridge activist and attorney Andrew Gounardes has been appointed general counsel to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, starting his stint at Borough Hall on Monday, February 10.

Gounardes, who ran as the Democratic candidate against incumbent Republican State Senator Marty Golden in 2012, is the president of the Bay Ridge Historical Society and vice president of the Bay Ridge Democrats. Before accepting the Borough Hall post, Gounardes was an attorney in private practice.
