Spiderman, Captain America and other superheroes paid a recent visit to a Bay Ridge Catholic school to the delight of students.

Actually, the superheroes were the students!

The Catholic Schools Week celebration at Saint Patrick Catholic Academy at 401 97th St. included Superhero Day, in which youngsters were encouraged to come to class dressed as their favorite comic book characters on Jan. 31.

Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 27-31) is celebrated all over the Diocese of Brooklyn. During the week, schools in Brooklyn and Queens, the two boroughs the diocese covers, offer open house tours, hold movie nights, sponsor costume parties, present science fairs and offer a host of other events to show the strength of Catholic education.

At Saint Patrick Catholic Academy, the festivities included a Science Fair, Superhero Day and an Art Fair.

The Art Fair, which took place on Jan. 27, allowed parents who are considering enrolling their children at the academy the chance to see the creativity and artistry of the school’s students on full display.

The fair featured poster boards filled with colorful artwork and lifelike models based on historical topics like the Boston Tea Party and ancient Pyramids.

Superhero Day took place on the last day of Catholic Schools Week to close out the week of fun-filled festivities.
