There was cause for celebration when it was revealed that highly regarded Kings Supreme Court Justice Patricia DiMango has been asked to host a television show based on her successful experience bringing order to the jammed and confused court calendars in Bronx Criminal.

There was also cause for thoughtful regret following this stunning development. She’ll be missed for her no-prisoners-taken courtroom style and personally by many of our readers who have known her for years, going back to her earliest days in Dyker Heights.

Created by TV’s Judge Judy Sheindlin, “Hot Bench” will launch in the fall on station groups like Tribune Broadcasting Company, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Cox Media Group, among others. Featuring two lawyers as well, fashioning  a  “three-judge” panel, it’s supposed to air mostly in afternoon time periods.
