Bosco Sodi believes in Red Hook.

Hurricane Sandy trashed the Van Brunt Street studio where he makes hybrid painting/sculptures of vividly hued sawdust – but the artist is building his family home in the neighborhood anyway.

“It’s a great area,” said his wife, Lucia Corredor, who’s an interior designer. “We just have to build smart and stay prepared.”

Design changes for the house that’s under construction at 97 Dikeman St. include moving electrical systems up higher in the building and adding a generator.

There will be an art gallery on the first floor of the three-story property.

The couple and their three kids currently live in Cobble Hill – where their home didn’t so much as lose electrical power after the killer ‘cane.
