NYC schools head Carmen Farina greets staff, talks collaboration

The new head of New York City’s schools is telling staffers she wants them to focus on communication, collaboration and on what’s working.
Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina spoke to Department of Education workers on Monday. The former teacher and principal described herself as a “general” and the employees as her “army.”
And she emphasized, “The kids of New York City are counting on us.”
