Food, glorious food – you can make a living from it in B’KLYN if you have nerves of steel and a formula for keeping customers fascinated.

This is a foodies’ wonderland, as long as you don’t get mocked on Twitter like Brooklyn Porridge Co. in Park Slope, whose gluten-free porridge recently drew a hilarious barrage of abuse.

We’ve got food tenants on the brain this week, what with the opening of Brooklyn’s first Whole Foods at Third Avenue and 3rd Street in Gowanus, which promises to be a game changer for the neighborhood.

* where the candy-sweet plantains are spiced with chipotle that will make your nose run and eyes water

* where fifth-generation El Salvadoran coffee growers serve as suppliers for Brooklyn-roasted beans
