Good morning. Today is the 329th day of the year. On this day in 1902, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported that thieves had tunneled their way through a brick wall in the basement of a department store at Fulton Street and DeKalb Avenue known as Browning, King & Co. While there, the burglars tried to sledgehammer their way into a safe, but apparently something scared them off and they ran away. Found at the scene were some cigarettes, two sandwiches and a half-empty bottle of whiskey.

Well-known people who were born today include former baseball player and manager Bucky Dent, singer Amy Grant, Hall of Fame football player Lenny Moore, actor-journalist Ben Stein and Brooklyn-born actor Jerry Ferrara.
