Park Slope artist James Rose, whose “Drawing Brooklyn” series depicts the neighborhoods of Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook and Carroll Gardens, will be exhibiting a selection of his drawings at the Brooklyn Workshop Gallery (393 Hoyt St.) beginning Friday, Nov. 8, through Dec. 8. The artist will appear at the Brooklyn Workshop Gallery on Nov. 8 for an opening reception from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. “My intent is to draw a body of work that works collectively as a portrait of a place,” says Rose. “My current body of work is about my local neighborhoods in Brooklyn and where I go in Manhattan.  I focus on light, space, shape, gesture and line while I draw.”
