Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser in memory of reporter’s mom
On Sunday November 10, Bay Ridge bar The Hideout will be hosting “Cancer Can’t Kill Love,” a fundraiser in memory of Joanne McGoldrick, who died from complications from leukemia on October 9. McGoldrick was mother of Home Reporter/Brooklyn Spectator reporter Meaghan McGoldrick.
Subsequently, it was Meaghan’s loved ones who came together and decided to show their support. “It was actually the idea of a few of my best friends,” said McGoldrick. “It’s incredible. If I didn’t have the support, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am now. “
Some of the money raised from the event will be go to Meaghan to meet expenses; the remainder will be donated to the ‘Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk’ to a team already formed under Joanne’s name.
