Lou Neglia’s “Combat at the Capitale” which took place on September 27 was, in his own words, “one of the best kickboxing events that I ever promoted.” The venue was sold out three weeks in advance and was packed with eager fight fans.

In most cases, fight fans will leave once their “favorite” fighter has competed. Not this time! There was not an empty seat the whole night. Once again Neglia’s matchmaking was key to the competitive action that continued from the opening bell of the first bout to the last bell of the evening.

Whether it’s MMA or kickboxing, Neglia has always followed his motto, “tough fights make great fighters.” Records meant nothing in “Combat at the Capitale.” It’s who you fought and how you fought.

“One of the greatest fights I ever promoted at the Capitale was Niko Tsigaras of Armenia vs. Nick Pace of the U.S.,” said Neglia. “The fans were on the edge of their seats the beginning, middle and end of each round.”

Before the winner was announced, Neglia told the crowd that there no losers in this fight as this was the greatest fight he ever matched up. The announcement was also made that both fighters would return in championship bouts. Neglia challenges anyone to say this wasn’t the Gatti/Ward or Zale/Grazino of kickboxing. The bout was aggression from beginning to end. It can be watched at Go Fight Live.

Kickboxing is the most competitive stand-up way of fighting and helped make MMA the popular sport it is. Fans enjoy a good ground game but they love the standup.

GLORY, the premiere kickboxing organization in Asia, Europe and now the U.S., is helping to bring kickboxing to the forefront of combat sports. Neglia was appointed to help promote GLORY in his area and being a former world champion kickboxer, he is very proud of this duty.

In the last GLORY show that took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Lou presented a fighter with a check for $200,000. The elaborate purse acknowledges the great talent and sacrifice of these kickboxers.

Winners at the Capitale show are eligible to compete at the next GLORY event at Madison Square Garden in November. The greatest theatre in the world will host some of the greatest fighters in the world from five countries.
