There was a strong judicial presence at the 20th Annual Merchants of Third Avenue Pioneer Awards Dinner, held Monday night at Café Remy in Bay Ridge, as several justices of the state Supreme Court, Kings County took time out of their busy schedules to attend the event.

The Hon. Lawrence Knipel (chief administrative judge), Hon. Mark Partnow, Hon. David Vaughan, Hon. Donald Kurtz, Hon. Arthur Schack and Hon. Gerard Rosenberg (ret.) sat together at a table and congratulated the award winners.

Sponsored by the Merchants of Third Avenue, a business group representing more than 300 store owners on the commercial strip of Third Avenue, the event honors business owners and civic leaders who have worked to make Bay Ridge a better place to live and work.

The centerpiece of the evening was a buffet featuring delicious dishes from dozens of Third Avenue’s finest restaurants. The dinner is organized each year by the Merchants of Third Avenue, chaired by Eagle columnist Charles Otey, Esq.
