As part of the Academy of American Poets’ seventh annual Poets Forum, which takes place from Oct. 24-26, Brooklyn Poet Laureate Tina Chang will be leading a new walking tour on Oct. 25 that explores the literary history of Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO. Stops along the way include the homes of W.H. Auden and Hart Crane, the site of the printing press where Walt Whitman first set the type for “Leaves of Grass,” the new poetry bookstore Berl’s Poetry Shop, and a poetry reading at the headquarters of the poetry organization Cave Canem.

The Poets Forum is a celebration featuring over thirty acclaimed poets giving readings, lectures, and panel discussions.

The tour will take place on Friday morning, October 25, at 10:30 a.m., and will leave from 1 Montague Terrace in Brooklyn Heights. The tour is part of the All-Events pass for Poets Forum. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit www.poets.org/poetsforum
