With the regular season quickly approaching, the Brooklyn Nets already have a W in the victory column. No, the victory will not count towards the NBA, but it will mean just as much to the community of Sunset Park, as the Brooklyn Nets organization continued its Assist the Community Week by hosting a health awareness event at the Rite Aid at 6201-23 Fourth Avenue.

Brooklyn Nets players Deron Williams, Andrei Kirilenko, Alan Anderson and Mirza Teletovic, were all in attendance and teamed up with Rite Aid employees, Rite Aid pharmacists and registered health professionals to host the event featuring a variety of free health and wellness stations, including blood pressure, healthy eating and flu shots.

The Nets enjoyed their time in Sunset Park.  Jeff Scott the Director of Community Relations for the Nets said, “The event created an exciting opportunity for the community to meet players from the Brooklyn Nets but most importantly to promote health and wellness. Our players had a great time working with the pharmacists and enjoyed meeting and signing autographs for their fans who will be cheering them on this season. It was an overall great event!”
