It was shortly after midnight on Sunday, September 8, when the 21-year-old woman was awoken by a man climbing on top of her and attempting to rape her. She fought back and eventually, the man fled through a window in her Greenpoint apartment. She sustained minor injuries, according to the police report she soon filed with the 90th Precinct.

Now, police are searching for a man described as a Hispanic man standing between 5’4″ and 5’7″ tall, who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with an unidentified design on the left shoulder.

Nearby surveillance video around Metropolitan Avenue shows the man walking with a bike later that night near the woman’s apartment.
