Good morning. Today is the 252nd day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle for Sept. 9, 1901, featured an article about John Czolgosz, the assassin of President McKinley. Czolgosz, an admitted anarchist, insisted that he alone planned and carried out the deed. Judging by the article, police and prosecutors were eager to find a connection between Czolgosz and Emma Goldman, the most well-known anarchist of the time. Czolgosz insisted that he had only heard Goldman speak once or twice, and indeed, there was no evidence to connect her with the crime.
