Dear Editor,

I am writing to inform your Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Bensonhurst readers of the X28 weekend express bus petition that Senator Marty Golden and I have been circulating.  For the past couple of weeks, I have been visiting senior centers and bus stops throughout the community garnering support for this effort.

In June, 2010, the Metropolitan Transit Authority mistakenly voted to end this weekend service, and now, more than three years later, we are asking for it to return. So far, more than 500 people have signed the petition who believe in this service restoration, and I hope many more will.

As time has gone on, since the MTA made the drastic cuts of 2010, much of the service that our community lost has been restored.  However, the X28 weekend service, that serves the residents of Dyker Heights, Bath Beach and Bensonhurst has not, and the fight goes on. I know that Senator Golden and I will not rest until we see those buses again on Saturdays and Sundays.

I hope that your readers will visit my website at www.johnquaglione.com to sign the online petition, or contact me to both sign it and help circulate it.  Together, we can accomplish great things, and I look forward to continue partnership with my neighbors on this issue.

Sincerely,

John Quaglione

Candidate, NYC Council District 43
