Don’t stay indoors this Saturday, August 24, head over to Southside United HDFC’s “Los Sures Festival,” and celebrate the diversity and history of the South Williamsburg community.

“It is to embrace the diversity that we have and to welcome the new folks coming into the community,” said Thomas Servello, Director of Communications for Southside United HDFC.

The festival, free and open to the public, is completely hosted by Southside United HDFC, better known as Los Sures throughout the community. The fun begins at noon at the Continental Army Plaza located at South 4th Street and Roebling Street. Local leaders are expected to be stopping by and there will be live music, food vendors and entertainment for the children.

“We want to have the community come together to enjoy a nice day in the summer,” said Servello.

Los Sures is a non-profit organization that has been around for 40 years focusing its efforts on rebuilding the southern side of Williamsburg. This is not Los Sures’ first festival and they hope to make the end of summer festival annual.
