Prospect Park to host Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play

With Nickelodeon’s 10th Annual Worldwide Day of Play (WWDoP), to be held in Brooklyn this year, there is no excuse to stay on the couch.

As Nickelodeon shuts off their stream from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Brooklynites are encouraged to head to the Nethermead in Prospect Park on Saturday, September 21 for the free ticketed event. There will be football and tennis drills, and dancing, encouraging kids lead a healthy lifestyle.

“We are incredibly excited to commemorate our milestone, 10th anniversary Worldwide Day of Play celebration in New York City, one of the greatest cities in the world and home to our corporate offices,” said Marva Smalls, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Administration for Nickelodeon Group.

Leading up to the big day, the television network will partner with NYC & Company hosting events to promote public wellness at popular locations across the city such as the Intrepid and Union Square on Monday September 16. In addition, parents will be encouraged to bring their children to sweat it out in the gym or a zumba classes. Non-profit partners such as schools and recreation centers will be hosting their own activities leading up to the main event.

Nickelodeon will be partnering with local and national companies and organizations such as the NFL, NBA, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, YMCA, Girl Scouts, the Police Athletic League. For locations and tickets go online to www.nick.com/play.
