Beauty Talk: Inner style for anywhere in the world

BY OLYMPIA COLANDREA

I’ve just finished touring Northern  Italy and from magical Bellaggio on the shores of Lake Como (still looking for George Clooney! ), to the  hills outside of Verona where the great Valpolicella wine is produced, to the history and beauty of Venice, I have to state that the saying “Bella Italia” couldn’t be more appropriate.

As much as the natural beauty of this or any other region can’t be overlooked, I also love to observe the styles and fashion of the particular areas that I travel to.

What I notice is that, no matter where I go, people always want to look and feel their best. It’s a natural expression of an individual’s inner feeling and confidence.

I love giving tips on  how to make you hair look the best, how to make you skin glow, how to transition hair color from season to season, but the beauty that’s inside each of us is as important as all the beauty tips one receives.

The way I see it, we as individuals, to feel good in our skin, must be honest and ask ourselves what do we need? Is it our weight? Is it the way our skin is looking? Is it the everyday aches and pains you feel? Is it time to change our wardrobe or do we need to communicate with our hair stylist to get a new chic look?

Let’s pay attention to our inner voice. Don’t ignore it. More often than not, it’s right. Yes, we lead  a very busy and hectic life and often  feel that we don’t have enough time or energy to take care of our needs.

Make the time. Don’t forget that taking care of your needs is as important, if not more so, than all the other obligations you might have. Remember, if you feel good inside and out you will be a much happier person, and I’m a believer that happiness is contagious.

Look your best…..feel your best…but most of all love yourself…..

CIAO… until next week.
