Brooklynites can meet up to shop, share recipes, and catch up with their neighbors at today’s Bensonhurst Greenmarket. It will take place at 18th Avenue between 81st and 82nd Streets, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purchases and donations help sustain regional farms and ensure ongoing access to fresh, healthy, local farm produce. Do you like to photograph nature for fun or for professional purposes? Bring your camera and explore Newtown Creek’s Dutch Kills tributary with Newtown Creek Alliance Historian Mitch Waxman. This opportunity costs $24. It will take place at the Albert E. Short Triangle Park, located at Jackson Avenue and 23rd Street in Long Island City, Queens, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Try some new food today at the Food Truck Rally from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Held at Grand Army Plaza, you can taste sample delights from New York’s best food trucks.

Come to the Powerhouse Arena today for “Summer Story Time” with Ashley from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The powerHouse Arena is located at 37 Main Street.

Walk the plank to see the one-man show teaching youngsters how to be good pirates. Lessons include learning how to stand, talk, sing, and laugh like Buccaneers. Macy’s will be sponsoring fishing clinics in Prospect Park today at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Kids 15 and under can spend the summer afternoon learning how to fish in the lake. Spend your Saturday afternoon learning new facts on the Coney Island History Project Walking Tour, beginning at 2 p.m. Historian Charles Denson or poet/teaching artist Amanda Deutch, who have over 100 years of family history in Coney Island, leads the walking tour. Want to learn how to play some old-school games? In the “History in Your Hands: Summer Games” session, learn how to play the board game Nine-Man Morris, or challenge a friend to a game of checkers or a rolling hoop race. It will be held at the Lefferts Historic House from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Magical Promotions, together with Coney Island USA, present an evening of fun and wonder for the entire family. Now in its fourth season, “Magic at Coney!!!” is a magical variety show highlighting magicians, illusionists, escape artists, and mentalists from around the world. The show will take place at 1208 Surf Avenue, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $8 for Kids (under 12) in advance or at the door.
