A Mom & Baby Stroller Fitness class is being offered today at the Russell Pedersen Playground, located on Colonial Road between 84th and 85th Streets. These low impact workouts for moms focus on toning & firming their bodies while interacting with their babies. This is a great way to get a workout in, meet other moms, and not worry about having to hire a babysitter! Bring water, a towel and a mat! The class costs $15.

From August 5 until August 23, the Christopher Rose Community Empowerment Campaign (CRCEC) and NASA will be holding a “Summer of Innovation – NASA Electronic Camp.” It is a free camp that is open to children ages 10 to 15. Ridgeites can meet up to shop, share recipes, and catch up with their neighbors at today’s Bay Ridge Greenmarket. A great selection of fresh caught fish, baked goods, and seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers will be at the greenmarket. Cooking demonstrations and family-friendly activities will also be provided. It will take place in the Walgreen’s parking lot, located at 9408 3rd Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. GrowNYC’s Compost Collection will also take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Check out the handmade crafts from local artists at Fort Greene Park’s Artisan Market this morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. It is located at Fort Greene Park, using the DeKalb Avenue/Cumberland Street entrance.

Do you love Chinese food and would like to learn how to make a dish? Well you won’t have to go to your favorite Chinese restaurant for dumplings after you finish the culinary workshop called “Chinese Home Cooking: Dumpling Making.” The class costs $74 for members and $94 for non-members. Learn the basics of visual storytelling in one weekend in the 2-day class called “Visual Story Intensive: Development & Design.” It will be held today and tomorrow, August 4. It’s never too late to start going green in your daily routines! Learn the benefits of composting, using either anaerobic or aerobic matter, in the “Composting Workshop.” The cost for the workshop is $10. Macy’s will be sponsoring fishing clinics in Prospect Park today at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Kids 15 and under can spend the summer afternoon learning how to fish in the lake. The Peace Action Bay Ridge Interfaith Peace Coalition is holding a march and vigil to commemorate Hiroshima Day. The march will assemble at 1:30 p.m. on 4th Avenue between 96th and 97th Streets and end at Shore Road and 4th Avenue. Following the march, an hour-long silent vigil will be held until 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Spend your Saturday afternoon learning new facts on the Coney Island History Project Walking Tour, beginning at 2 p.m. Historian Charles Denson or poet/teaching artist Amanda Deutch, who have over 100 years of family history in Coney Island, leads the walking tour. Attend the Ezra Jack Keats Story Hour at the Imagination Playground in Prospect Park today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free and open to the public, gather around Peter and Willy, the statue of two beloved Keats characters, for storytelling adventures brought to life by Tammy Hall. Imagination Playground is located near Ocean Avenue between the Parkside Avenue and Lincoln Road entrances.

Want to learn how to play some old-school games? In the “History in Your Hands: Summer Games” session, learn how to play the board game Nine-Man Morris, or challenge a friend to a game of checkers or a rolling hoop race. It will be held at the Lefferts Historic House from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Do you have a green thumb and also love history? Well grab your gardening tools and get to work in the Fort Greene Park’s Revolutionary Garden, inspired by the Revolutionary War. Held every Saturday, participants can garden from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Bring your little ones for an afternoon of planned activities called “Kids Day at Sprout.” It will be held today from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Gaynor Campus Garden. The activities are geared toward children between the ages of three and eight. A donation of $15 per child is recommended. The Gaynor Campus Garden is located at 1901 Manhattan Avenue.

Join other Brooklynites for Deno’s Wonder Wheel Music Marathon today for a variety of surf, rockabilly, and rock n’ roll. It will be held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Performers include Alien Surfer Babes, Strange But Surf, Purple k’niF, The Clams, and Blue Stingray. It will be located at the boardwalk at Denos D Vourderis Place (West 12th Street).

Coney Island’s Peggy O’Neill’s will be holding a Grateful Dead & Southern Rock Fest today at 3 p.m. The High Tides and Blues Circles will be performing live.

Dance your way down to the Prospect Park Bandshell, located at 9th Street & Prospect Park West, for Spanish musical performances. To start off the night, Banda Manga will perform. Nine-time Grammy winner Eddie Palmieri, the Spanish-Harlem born granddaddy of salsa and Latin jazz piano, with an orchestra in tow, will then follow. As part of the Celebrate Brooklyn! Series, it is free and open to the public. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end approximately at 9:30 p.m.

Written by Mando Alvarado and directed by Alfred Preisser, the play production of “Diablo Love” will be performed at Herbert Von King Park tonight at 8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

The Old American Can Factory, located at 232 Third Street, will be the place to be tonight. Enjoy a night that includes music, a movie, and Q&A session. Doors open at 8 p.m. with live music performing at 8:30 p.m. The film “Cutie and the Boxer” will be shown at 9 p.m. At 10:30 p.m., a Q&A session with director Zachary Heinzerling and subjects of the film, Noriko and Ushio Shinohara, will follow.
