Anthony Weiner is now in fourth in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor according to a new poll taken in the wake of his latest scandal.

Weiner was in first place in the most recent poll conducted by Quinnipiac University, which was conducted just five days ago.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is in first place with 27% of likely voters. She was followed by Public Advocate Bill de Blasio at 21, ex-city comptroller Bill Thompson at 20 and Weiner at 16.

Weiner admitted last week he continued having illicit online conversations after resigning from Congress in 2011.

Poll director Maurice Carroll said Monday Weiner is in “freefall.”

Pollsters surveyed 446 Democrats between July 24 to 28. The poll has a margin of error of 4.6 percentage points.
