A HAIRY COMPETITION

“No beard is too big, no moustache is too small!” It’s not until September, but mark it down on your calendar so you don’t forget! It’s called the Coney Island Beard and Moustache Competition and it should be awesome. “Founded in 2008 by the mustachioed maestro, Donny Vomit, the Coney Island Beard and Moustache Competition has grown to become one of Coney Island’s most unique evenings of entertainment,” says the Brooklyn Exposed events website.

The sixth annual competition will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 6 p.m. Visit: http://brooklynexposed.com/events/event/the-6th-annual-coney-island-beard-and-moustache-competition for details. It’s free, and the address is: 1208 Surf Avenue. Be there!

SPLASHY RUN

The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality and giving back to the community.

This year, it will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 8:00 a.m. at Aviator Sports and Events Center– 3159 Flatbush Avenue—and it should be pretty interesting.

Runners aren’t timed, but they are covered with different colors of paint as they pass by each kilometer. The cost ranges from $50 to $65. Visit: http://brooklynexposed.com/events/event/brooklyn-color-run-5k for details.
