SAVING VALUABLES

The Brooklyn Museum welcomes the warm weather with one of its many summer public programs taking place on Saturday, July 20.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Save Our African American Treasures, presents a day-long program in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture on identifying and preserving items of historical and cultural significance to the African American experience–where participants can bring up to three personal items for a 15-minute professional consultation. Is that unique enough for you?

RARE PLANTS, RARE PLACES

With this beautiful weather, take your family outside and enjoy what nature has got to offer, especially the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens recently reopened Native Flora exhibition.

Add to the experience by stopping by an exhibit at the garden, which has been ongoing since April, celebrating the garden opening with photographs of beautiful and rare native plants by Uli Lorimer, curator of BBG’s Native Flora Garden.

JUST ADD MUSIC

Shabbat with a fun twist will be hosted by the Bay Ridge Center on July 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Music will be provided by the talented congregants. Upbeat songs, sing-a-longs and lots of dancing to take placewhy not be there? Refreshments to be served.
