Gala for celebrated tennis and education program
Vanessa Williams and Richey Reneberg among stars
More than 7,000 low-income kids from all over the city, including Brooklyn, have learned to play tennis at the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program – and more than 90 percent of the high school participants have gone on to college.
To celebrate the program’s 41 years of service, Broadway star Vanessa Williams and tennis superstar Richey Reneberg, along with the emcee Janice Huff of NBC New York will honor Jeanne Moutoussamy Ashe, Assemblyman Keith Wright, Black Enterprise Magazine and Dante Brown at Guastavino’s in Manhattan on Monday, June 17 from 6 – 9 p.m.
Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing and an auction with items including autographed player memorabilia, US Open President’s box tickets, fine dining at local restaurants, Grand Slam packages, resort and spa packages, and more.
