Among all the great events that Pietro’s Fight has hosted in the last couple of months, none have been solely dedicated to kids, but this upcoming event is just for them!

Called “Bump, Crash & Smash DMD,” the fundraiser will be held on Friday, June 21, at the old Nellie Bly, now called Adventurer’s Family Center, located on 1824 Shore Parkway.

Take your kids to three hours of unlimited rides, food, beverages and treats in order to support Pietro Scarso, a four year-old fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

“We fight to spread awareness of this devastating and debilitating disease. We fight to raise money for crucial medical research and ultimately, we must fight to find a cure in time to save Pietro and all children with DMD. Now we ask, will you join our fight?” the proud parents said.

Pietro was diagnosed with the rare and incurable disease last year, which causes muscle weakness of the legs and pelvis. The loss of muscle mass eventually spreads to arms, necks and other areas bounding the children to a wheelchair by the age of 12.

Manni and Dayna Scarso, Pietro’s parents, have been selflessly fighting for their older son to raise the necessary funds to combat DMD. Their work in the community has included raising as much awareness as possible by founding Pietro’s Fight, a nonprofit organization aimed at raising awareness about DMD with the means of finding a cure, soon enough.

Tickets for a fun-time cost $30 from 4 to 7 p.m. All children will be going home with a goodie bag. There will be coupon books available for purchase featuring coupons for treats on the day of the event as well as free coupons for future use at local stores and restaurants, the proud parents explained.
“We will not sit by and let Pietro be succumbed to his diagnosis!” Scarso concluded.
