The literary and entrepreneurial minds behind Park Slope’s popular Community Bookstore will be keeping lit love alive in Windsor Terrace this June, when they take over the six-year-old Babbo’s Books at 242 Prospect Park West.

The new bookstore will be renamed as Terrace Books, announced Community Bookstore owners Stephanie Valdez and Ezra Goldstein in a statement that also explained why they would be taking over.

“Leonora Stein, the wonderful owner of Babbo’s Books, was ready to move on to other things,” said the new owners, who added that they “wanted to make sure a bookstore stayed in Windsor Terrace.”

As for what to look forward to from Terrace Books:

  • A considered selection of used books, a few new books, books to give as gifts (especially around the holidays), kids’ books, and more
  • Quick and easy delivery of new titles from Community Bookstore by bicycle
  • All the out-of-print books and vintage dust jackets you can handle
  • And for Babbo’s customers, we’ll honor your credits and gift certificates.

A grand opening party is being planned for June.
