NYC bike share set to start on Memorial Day
New York City has set a date for starting its bike-sharing program — Memorial Day.
The program will start with 6,000 bikes at 330 stations in Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn. There are plans to expand it eventually to 10,000 bikes and 600 docking stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
The bike-sharing program is called Citi Bike after a $41 million sponsorship from Citibank. It will be the largest program of its kind in the nation.
