Bay Ridge has got it going on — a musical that spent five months on Broadway in 2009 will be presented by Narrows Community Theater on six different days starting on May 10.

”9 to 5: The Musical,” directed by Christian Fleming, is based on the 1980 hit movie that revolved around three female co-workers living in the ‘70s who are set on getting revenge on their sexist male boss.

“It’s hilariously funny,” Ann Gubiotti, a member of the board of directors of the theater group, said, adding that “It’s about a time when women were treated poorly in the business world,” and that the story is set when the feminist movement began to gain momentum.

“They stood up for themselves and said ‘I can’t take it anymore,” Gubiotti went on.

The three main characters — an overworked office manager, a jilted woman and an objectified secretary — join forces and plan to take control of the company where they work, admitting that enough is enough. In the process, Gubiotti explained, they learn that even in a man’s world, there is absolutely nothing that they cannot do.

“The play is very delightful,” Gubiotti added. “It’s a great group of people; the cast is marvelous.”

The fun tale is a clear demonstration of the challenges women faced back in the days, when trying to climb up the ladder and become independent, from their fathers and husbands.

“They’ll love it,” Gubiotti said of the audience. “There’s great dancing and just so much fun!”

Tickets cost $20 for adults, and $15 for seniors, students under 21 and children. Performances will take place on May 10, 11, 17, and 18 beginning at 8 p.m. and on May 12 and 19 at 2 p.m.

The location will be St. Patrick’s Auditorium, 97th St and Fourth Avenue.
