Want a tree in your backyard? Greenfield is giving them away
As part of an initiative to help the environment and beautify local neighborhoods, Councilman David Greenfield is hosting a free tree giveaway on Sunday, April 28, at the Borough Park Y Senior Center, at 4912 14th Ave.
Held in partnership with MillionTreesNYC and the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), the event will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until the 100 free trees have been distributed, Greenfield said. Residents interested in obtaining a tree are urged to call Greenfield’s office to register ahead of time. A limited number of trees will also be available on Sunday on a first-come, first-served basis.
New York Restoration Project was founded by Bette Midler.
