For $20 (or $10 for students), Brooklynites can meet New York Times food policy and cooking columnist Mark Bittman at a book signing/discussion about “The Future of Food” next Tuesday, April 30, at Long Island University — all while also supporting the Brooklyn Food Coalition.

The evening talk and fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. and coincides with the release of Bittman’s new book, “VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6 PM To Lose Weight And Restore Your Health. . . For Good.”

For $175, you can join Bittman in a four-course meal with wine, in addition to a signed copy of his book (includes cost of entry to the discussion).

Book signing and purchase of Bittman’s book will be available as well as snacks, aprons, and other items. There will be a raffle with the prize of the complete works of Mark Bittman. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
