The Great GoogaMooga is back; tickets go on sale on Thursday

The Great GoogaMooga is back for another three-day run in Prospect Park’s Nethermead this May 17-19.

Tickets go on sale in two days — at Noon on Thursday, March 28 — so if you liked what you saw last year or are hoping that a second-go-round will somehow attract smaller crowds due to the novelty wearing off, get your ticket(s) now.

Tickets are being sold for each day, with Friday, May 17’s Kickoff Concert and vendors going for $49.50 (Early Bird Price) or $54.50 (Regular Price).

Friday tickets also grant ticketholders the choice of a second access pass to EITHER Saturday or Sunday’s events.

Do note, however, that these tickets only grant you access to the vendors on the fair grounds and the Kickoff Concert — featuring the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Flaming Lips, and The Darkness — and do NOT include the cost of food and drink, which are a la carte.

Also, Friday events do not include all fair activities, which are only in full swing over the weekend.

General Admission to Saturday and Sunday’s GoogaMooga festivities is FREE, but REQUIRES registration as tickets are limited.

Registration will run from Monday, April 1 to Wednesday, April 10. Ticketholders will be notified on or before April 10 of their status.

VIP tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost $79.50 and include a cocktail reception and special seminars and seating.

However, the VIP experience at last year’s inaugural GoogaMooga wasn’t well received as lines were still long and seats were removed from the action, so we’ll have to see how and whether things change this year.

Another potential problem is the fact that the NY Road Runners Brooklyn Half Marathon is also on Saturday, May 18, and will include a route through Prospect Park.

Crowd control will have a full plate, it seems. We’ll update if anything changes.

Will you be going to GoogaMooga?
