The Staples Small Business Event, a hand-selected gathering of local and loyal customers/small businesses, met for the second year in a row—this time around, at the chain’s Park Slope’s Fourth Avenue location.

Staples Account Manager Michael McKenna, regards this event as a “Brooklyn success story.” Allowing participants to greet and speak with customers as they come into the store creates a positive environment.

This year’s invited participants included Pilo Arts, Rapid Realty, Flushing Bank, AllCar Rental, Orly Amor and the Greenpoint and N. Brooklyn YMCAs.

According to McKenna, on average, Staples’ Brooklyn stores see in excess of 2,000 shoppers a day. The small business event provides exposure for the participating businesses, and McKenna said, “A way for Staples to give back to the small businesses that support us.”
