Summer 2013 will see North Brooklyn’s popular outdoor markets, Williamsburg [Brooklyn] Flea and Smorgasburg, setting up camp at East River State Park — a stone’s throw away from their current location in the giant concrete courtyard at 27 North 6th Street behind The Edge condominiums.

The new location will allow market-goers to still enjoy the waterfront while “now support[ing] one of New York’s truly great parks,” said market co-founder Jonathan Butler. “[It] feels like a perfect fit [and] staying on the Williamsburg waterfront in this vibrant community is a big priority for us.”

The 2013 food and flea season begins on Saturday, April 6, with Smorgasburg, followed the the Sunday lineup from the Brooklyn Flea. Times remain the same – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Flea and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Smorgasburg.

The original Brooklyn Flea location in Fort Greene (176 Lafayette Avenue in the schoolyard of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School) will remain open on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as usual.

The same goes for the DUMBO Smorgasburg location on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Tobacco Warehouse (28 Water Street).
