Mohammad Ajmal Choudhry, 60, a Brooklyn cabbie, is accused of kidnapping his 22-year-old daughter, holding her against her will for three years in Pakistan, and forcing her to marry a Pakistani man, according to the New York Times.

Amina Ajmal told authorites that she was made to marry the man so that he could obtain permanent legal status in the United States.

According to the New York Post, the young woman obtained the help of her cousins and the U.S. Embassy to make her escape to the U.S. — but her father allegedly had the sympathetic relatives murdered in retaliation.
