APP REVIEW: Countdown Timer Pro

How many of us forget we have a six page paper due and stay up the whole night before cramming, resulting in rushed work and lack of sleep? How often do we realize that we have a really important event and don’t have a formal outfit ready? How many times have you remembered a friend’s birthday only to realize that you haven’t gotten a gift for them yet?

In this day and age, many of us have time-consuming jobs and classes, whether at home or at the office. Fortunately, we have a great asset in technology and to one of the most convenient apps that I’ve been using lately is The Countdown Timer Pro iPhone App. Available for download at the App Store for $1.99 – or on Google Play for Android as a free Countdown Widget – it’s like having your own personal assistant yell reminders at you right when you need it. Use it for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, holidays, and any other event reminder that comes up.

The number one reason why I love this app is because of organization. If you are a procrastinator, you will find this app incredibly helpful. Another reason why I find this app so intriguing is because you are able to personalize the countdown.

For example, I knew that I had a quiz in Mass Communications class, so what I did was I took a picture of the textbook, wrote the chapter and also the page number. This app allows you to choose from different selections, such as background images, fonts, colors, and sounds. It also has a timer and audio plus visual effects. The timer can be used anywhere, whether it is playing a board game or cooking food on the stove. With the audio and visual effects, you are able to choose several voices and visual options to countdown the final minutes and seconds to your event.

Another great thing is that when you set an event, it won’t interrupt what you are doing. For example, if you are browsing the web, you will still be alerted even if the app isn’t open. You will get the countdown alert even when the app is closed.

The Countdown App would come in handy because we each have hectic lives and it is always good to have a reminder here and there. It is very useful and convenient in everyday life. We can’t handle everything ourselves, so why don’t you try this app and see if you feel more organized and less pressured to get everything done in a timely fashion.
