Two tough teams, the PYO Falcons and Bucs in the Major Division, went up against each other and produced a superb football game.

The first half generated one touchdown which supported this defensive battle. Anthony Barreira is the guy who fought his way 40 yards to pay dirt, breaking tackles all the way down field. That was the only highlight of the first half.

Thomas “Grim Reaper” Yeno of the Falcons broke through the Bucs’ line and sacked their quarterback for a two-point safety. That was the last score of this contest giving the Falcons an 8-0 victory.

The “Grim Reaper” Yeno (great fumble recovery) was cited as being one of the most outstanding players of the game. Joseph Pallone (slick interception) was also honored with this distinction.

Other players that contributed to this exciting game were Joseph “Little Big Daddy” Hayes, Antonio Pisano, Dylan Salas, Jon Paul “Surething” Moran, Lorenzo Pisano, Alexander Freda (great interception Alex), Michael Angelo Melfi and Dante D’Egido.

The PYO Saints and Steelers in the Peewee Division put on a good show with a 18-7 victory for the Saints. Frank Scarpaci drew first blood for the Steelers with a 22-yard spectacular run. He also went in for the extra point. The hurrah didn’t last long when Aidan Farley scored for the Saints

Farley came back again for a five-yard TD run, putting the Saints on the sunny side of a 12-7 ball game at the half. The only score in the second half was made by Sal Miciotta that secured the 18-7 win for the Saints.

The most outstanding players in this confrontation were Charles Kitsakos and Juan Vasquez. Other players that gave 110 percent were Alex Gonzalez, Marcus Vargas, Scarpaci and Carl Midiotta.
