State Bar honors the late Justice Theodore Jones, Jr.

During its annual meeting last Friday, the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) honored a number of their members at a well-attended awards ceremony. The late Court of Appeals Judge Theodore Jones, Jr., was posthumously awarded the Vincent E. Doyle Jr. Award for Outstanding Judicial Contribution in the Criminal Justice System. Jones died in November 2012 of an apparent heart attack.

Former Appellate Division, Second Department Justice Sondra Miller, was given the Kay Crawford Murray Award, by the NYSBA’s Committee on Women in the Law.

Other notable award recipients included:

* Judge Judy Harris Kluger, chief of policy and planning, Unified Court System. She was awarded an Excellence in Public Service Award; and

* The Metropolitan Black Bar Association was granted an Innovation award.
