The Thirteenth Avenue Merchants Association celebrated the most wonderful time of the year at a holiday party at La Bella Panini on December 11.

Merchants were invited to come with their families, as well as customers and residents, said Tatiana Nicoli, co-president of the association.

“We hadn’t had a party in quite a while. We kept it small,” she said, adding that guests mingled with wine and appetizers in a laid-back atmosphere.

DJ Menny Memories provided music for dancing.

Fran Vella-Marrone, president of the Dyker Heights Civic Association, received a special award for all her work throughout the year. Captain Richard DiBlasio, commanding officer of the 68th Precinct and Ilene Sacco, president of the 68th Precinct Community Council, were also honored.

Local elected officials enjoyed the evening with their staffs, including Congressmember Michael Grimm, State Senator Marty Golden and Councilmember Vincent Gentile.

Each attendee brought a toy for the annual Stuff-A-Bus. Nicoli said the box was “overflowing.”

“It was just a nice night of sharing drinks and appreciation of people in room and the support we have given each other,” Nicoli said.
