Menorahs light up for Chanukah across Brooklyn starting Saturday
Chanukah (or Hanukkah), the eight-day Jewish “festival of lights” begins at sundown Saturday, and numerous menorah lightings are taking place around Brooklyn.
Brooklyn’s largest menorah lighting (with live music and free latkas!) takes place at the Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park. Come by at around 6 p.m. to witness the lighting of the 32-foot-tall menorah (the largest allowed by Jewish law). Sponsored by Chabad of Brooklyn — check www.chabadparkslope.com/ for schedule updates.
On Saturday, the annual lighting of the giant menorah in the plaza at Brooklyn Borough Hall, sponsored by Congregation B’nai Avraham, gets started around 6 p.m.
