An open house will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, for 38 affordable studio apartments for rent at 40 Vanderbilt Ave. in the Navy Green development, between Flushing and Park avenues in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Wallabout areas.

The Pratt Area Community Council (PACC), developer of the affordable and supportive housing element, will hold the open house from noon to 3 p.m.

PACC is marketing 38 of the 98 studio apartments with a priority given to Brooklyn Community Board 2 residents.

The eight-story building, where 60 percent  of the units are reserved for individuals who have been chronically homeless, is part of the master planning efforts at the former Navy Brig site known as “Navy Green,” which will include more than 455 units of mixed income housing, a beautifully landscaped common green and retail and community facility spaces.

This building, at 40 Vanderbilt, will include one unit for a live-in superintendent. It  will also offer onsite social services to all residents that will be provided by Brooklyn Community Housing and Services, a local non-profit organization.
