The Guild for Exceptional Children (GEC) honored 12 employees at a mid-week ceremony that took place at the Hope Morrison Day Habilitation program, 6749 Third Avenue, dedicated to those who have “distinguished themselves for the quality and compassionate care they provide.”

The reception was held on Wednesday, September 12, and recognized the individuals who have “gone above and beyond,” offering their compassionate, thoughtful attention to children and adults living with developmental disabilities, explained Caroline Mansuetto, GEC associate director of development.

The honorees — Paul Berman, George Blandon, Margaret DeGaetano, Miriam Figueroa, Michael Francis, Aide Guevara, Marie Hammerstein, Veronica Iqbal, William Noerling, Nancy O’Callaghan, Joshua Pesin, and Jennifer Russo — received tokens of appreciation, certificates and special recognition from their department supervisors and senior staff.
