It’s garden party time!

Adelphi Academy will celebrate its 150th anniversary on Friday, September 28th with an inaugural garden party and fine art auction. A tree will be also planted on the school campus.

The event will begin with a dedication and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:45p.m., allowing the community “to see the beautiful school campus,” that has been redone, explained Chip Cafiero, director of external and community relations.

It is open to the public, and it will be an opportunity to “highlight the outside garden.”

A service with wine and cheese will be provided, and a professional auctioneer will bring in “one of a kind works of art,” as well as collectables.

“It’ll be a busy weekend,” noted Cafiero, referring to the Ragamuffin Parade held the following day, September 29th. “I look forward to it. It’s a great event.”

Cafiero talked about the former Ridgeites who decided to come back for the annual parade. “I am looking forward to it.”

There will be more events to come, such as a Halloween ball for kids and adults, a holiday party, and the main gala for the celebration of the 150 years, taking place in the spring.

Tickets cost $35 per guest or $60 per couple, with the proceeds benefitting the school itself, most specifically going to student organizations. They will be sold at the door.
