The rain washed away, leaving only sunshine and laughter for this year’s Columbia Waterfront Fall Festival on Saturday, September 8, which drew residents out onto Columbia Street for an afternoon of food, shopping, music, games, and sports that gave neighbors and business owners alike a chance to have fun and enjoy one of the last summer weekends of the year.

Organized by the Carroll Gardens Association, in partnership with the Columbia Waterfront District Merchants Association, the event featured a bouncy house, artwork from locals Alexander Reynoso and Marivel Mejia, and free tennis lessons and health screenings from the South Brooklyn Tennis Association and Downstate Long Island College Hospital. Jazz music danced in the air courtesy of the Columbia Waterfront Quartet, and blues joined in thanks to the Union Band.
