Mallory Hagan, who’s originally from Alabama, will represent New York in the national competition in Las Vegas in January.

The borough blonde employed a punishing one-two combo of tap-dancing prowess and general agreeability to best her 25 competitors in the event at Staten Island’s St. George Theatre.

A former Miss Brooklyn and a junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Hagan plans to spend the months preceding January’s Miss America Pageant touring New York and raising awareness on child sex abuse.

Hagan started participating in the Miss America pageant, which also includes a teen competition, when she was 13 years old. In March, she was named Miss New York City.

“I’m feeling so overwhelmed and overjoyed,” she said of her most recent victory to the Daily News. “I cannot even explain it.”

In an interview with the Miss New York organization in May, Hagan said that she decided to start competing for a New York crown as a way to put herself through college. At that time, she credited the organization with giving her four “free” semesters at FIT, where she studies advertising, marketing and communications with a focus in cosmetics and fragrance.

Another Kings County knockout, Maria DeSantis, who is the current Miss Brooklyn, was named the third runner-up on Saturday night.

First runner-up was Miss Manhattan, Katie Berry, and second was Miss Greater Rochester, Nina Davuluri. Rounding out the top five was Miss Niagara, Desiree Wiley.
