WHITE PLAINS (AP) — A Florida woman accused of directing the killings of her millionaire husband and mother-in-law says she won't testify at her New York trial.

 

Narcy Novack of Fort Lauderdale, by whispering in her lawyer's ear, told a federal judge Friday that she was formally waiving her right to take the stand.

 

Novack and her brother, Cristobal Veliz of Brooklyn, are charged in the 2009 killings of Bernice Novack in Florida and Ben Novack Jr. in New York.

 

Ben Novack was the son of the man who built the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.

 

Veliz testified for several days. The final defense witnesses in the seven-week-old trial were expected Friday. The judge said closing arguments will follow any rebuttal witnesses next week.
