TOWSON, Md. (AP) — A Maryland judge has set bail at $50,000 for two men from Florida and Brooklyn charged after a raid on the medical clinic they operated. They are accused of selling powerful painkillers to out-of-state addicts.

During the hearing yesterday morning, a Baltimore County judge also ordered 78-year-old Gerald Wiseberg of Boca Raton, Fla., and 51-year-old Michael Reznikov of Brooklyn, N.Y., to surrender their passports. The pair operated Healthy Life Medical Group in Lutherville, and each is charged with conspiring to distribute Schedule II narcotics.

Earlier this week, Baltimore County and federal authorities seized non-drug evidence during a search of the clinic, which has been the focus of an investigation for more than a year, and arrested the pair. Authorities say additional arrests are expected.

Calls to Healthy Life Medical Group went unanswered.
